Sunday was rest day so no workout beyond the continued purge, de-clutter, organize, and cleaning that continued. I am excited to report that we got pretty well the whole house done! We're all ready for the yard sale next Saturday morning.
I had pulled some elk and wild boar steaks out of the freezer to have for dinner and Joe suggested that we do a three course fondue! Lovely idea! We haven't done that in a long time! What a nice treat after all our hard work over the weekend!
Course number one was cheese fondue. Since Ethan and I are allergic to the protein in cow's dairy, we eat goat's dairy. The protein in goat's dairy is closer to human dairy and so we can tolerate it. We mixed the goat's mozzarella and goat's sharp cheddar together with some almond milk. Loblaw's has a nice variety of hard goat's cheeses as does Wendy's Country Market. I gave the link to her two websites in yesterday's post.
To go with the cheese fondue, I cut up some gluten-free bread as both Ethan and I also have issues with gluten as well and I also chopped up some veggies. Eat the rainbow! Here I have broccoli; orange, purple, and yellow carrots; as well as red and orange peppers. Here's a picture.
The next course was the elk and wild boar cut up into small cubes so they can cook quickly. We cooked them in a chicken broth that had a nice variety of fresh herbs from my herb garden in it. Very healthy and very yummy! We used a variety of dipping sauces which I was again careful not to use too much of. I had the jerk BBQ sauce, the hot Indian Curry, and Dijon mustard. Here's a picture.
