I have to tell you that I am extremely grateful for the personal growth that I have done and for the person that I am becoming! The old me would have been extremely angry about the delay. Instead, I looked for the opportunity in the situation.
I went in search of something to eat; however, I soon discovered that there was nothing I could eat. I got some water and unpacked my suitcase to find a shake. Note to self: Pack one in your carry on so you can get to it when you need it! The server at the restaurant gave me my coffee for free as she felt bad there was nothing for me to eat. I would have thought an airport restaurant would serve all kinds of food at all hours, but they were only serving breakfast. I thought it was so kind. I wrote her a lovely note and left her a nice tip when I left. I dozed in and out on the benches in the airport and did my personal growth reading for the day.
For lunch I ate a salad which had chicken, pecans, and mangoes on it. It was tasty. I got it at the same restaurant that I couldn't eat breakfast. The server was so pleased with the note and the tip! She thanked me and wouldn't take a tip for the salad - she said I had given her enough in the morning.
On the plane, I made a lovely new friend. We shared stories of our kids as well as health and wellness.
Back at the apartment, the front desk clerk didn't charge me for parking. What we pay out into the world comes back to us in greater abundance! I did laundry and my workout as well as my posts.
My workout looked like the following:
30 seconds squats
30 seconds left donkey kicks
30 seconds left sweeps
30 seconds rest
30 seconds reverse lunges
30 seconds right donkey kicks
30 seconds right sweeps
30 seconds rest
30 seconds squat in and outs
30 seconds lateral lunges
30 seconds squat lunges
30 seconds rest
Once Joe got home from work, we went for dinner and a movie. How cool to have date night in the middle of the week! I love designing my days the way I like! I had a burger for a treat since they had gluten-free buns with a tossed salad. I forgot to get a picture.
We went to see Sausage Party at the new VIP room at the Cineplex. It was quite enjoyable to sit in the big cushy chairs which reclined and be served! A nice experience for sure. I had a bit of popcorn and a water as well as a Tom Collins. The movie was silly, but had a few funny parts in it. It's really great to laugh for your mood as well as for your body!
I was quite pleased that my digestive system continues to improve. The popcorn didn't bother me :)
Kids laugh many times a day whereas as adults most people rarely laugh each day! Take a lesson from kids and look for opportunities to laugh - your body will thank you! Some of the many benefits of laughter include:
- decreased stress hormones
- increased immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies
- improved resistance to disease
- triggers the release of endorphins - natural feel-good chemicals in your body which promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain
