After my meditation and reading I got up and took my measurements for the week. You will find them below. Then I did my workout. This morning was lower body again. Each day that I can celebrate my body with exercise is blessing because it means that I am here for another day to experience the beauty of this life and the lessons that I learn on a daily basis. Sometimes the lessons come in packages that don't seem to be blessings at the time, but which are revealed as I look more into the experience.
After my workout I had my superfood protein shake. Did you know that all proteins are not equal? The whey protein in the shakes from the company that I am aligned with contain the best whey protein in the world. It is sourced from New Zealand happy cows where they have the highest standards in the World. It is undenatured, which means that the branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) are still intact, and is highly absorbable in the body. Since I am allergic to whey and casein protein in cow's dairy, I choose to use the plant-based protein shakes from my company, but have begun practicing food rotation by having one of the dairy-based shakes every four days at most. I'll let you know how this goes. I am aware that whey protein builds muscles much more easily and quickly than plant-based although it is certainly doable to build lean muscle mass with plant-based as well. I'll continue to use the plant-based mostly anyway as it is always good to eat more plants!
We headed over to Joe's parent's place for Thanksgiving dinner today. For my second meal of the day I had turkey, squash, and cauliflower and broccoli.
After visiting for a bit and watching the kids play everyone headed home. I ate my third meal of the day which mirrored my second meal and then Ethan, Joe, Helen, and I headed to Rock Dunder for a lovely hike. It was quite busy there!
Here are some pictures that I took from the top of the hill. The camera on my cell phone doesn't do the view justice, but you can begin to appreciate the beauty of one of my favourite spots on a crisp fall day! The colours just don't come through the camera as they do my eye! I invite you to go there and check it out for yourself if you are near Morton, Ontario. You will be delighted!
When we got home, Joe made a lovely prime rib dinner with beets and steamed bok choy for me. I made up some fresh horseradish which Joe dug up from the garden. It was delicious and doesn't get any fresher than this! Very potent and yummy! I had a sprinkle of tamari soy sauce on my bok choy which added a nice flavour.
As promised, here are this week's measurements.
