Joe and Ethan hung out outside. Ethan practiced his scooter tricks on his skate park and Joe cleaned my car. Very sweet!
So the drill these days for food remains the same - a superfood protein shake with extra BCAAs in it after my workout, 3 meals of meat, complex carb, and veggies along with another superfood shake. Today's first meal was turkey with quinoa pasta and broccoli. Today's second meal was prime rib with some more of that yummy homemade horseradish on it, beets, and steamed kale.
For dinner I had local fresh trout from Wendy's Country Market, sauteed portabello mushrooms, and quinoa. I made a mistake with my dinner! I read my chart thinking that I was to have a whole cup of quinoa when I should have had 1/2 cup. Coach Michelle told me not to sweat it and keep moving forward as the program outlined.
Before bed I had my last superfood protein shake and headed to bed. It was an early night as Tuesday morning is early hockey!!
A quick update - I woke this morning with a large pimple on my cheek and my chin. This is very unusual for me to get acne anymore let alone two of them! This is evidence that my body is having a hard time processing the whey shake. So that experiment is a fail. I thought my improved digestion might be able to handle it, but I was sorely mistaken. That experiment is now over. I'll stick to the plant-based protein in my non-dairy shake which is pea and hemp.
