I am reading the Power of Focus right now learning about the first focusing exercise. I believe that I will enjoy this book immensely as it has practical activities to do just like the Productivity Project did.
Thursday morning is lower body. I changed up my squats and lunges with the tips from my coach and boy did I feel them! I learned that one wants your knee to go past your toe and one must lead with the bum and hips and sink down really low. I was so excited that they didn't hurt my knees! I was able to add some weight! Yippee! There's hope for my legs yet!
After my workout was my superfood protein shake. These nutrient dense full meal replacements contain everything my body and hard working muscles need during my intense training for my competition. Not only am I doing workouts each day and eating 5 times a day, but I am also practicing walking in 4" heels and striking my poses! The posing is much more challenging than I thought it would be, but it is good that I am starting early as my body will develop muscle memory and I will also have time to improve my poses and walking so they look very natural.
I drove Ethan to school and then ate my second meal of the day which was lamb and broccoli. Notice that there is no complex carb this morning. Coach Michelle has me alternating high days with carbs are each meal and medium days where the second meal does not contain complex carbs. We'll see how my body reacts to this. As we get closer to the event the food will get much more strict! There are 5 spreadsheets in the workbook she sent me - high, medium, medium-low, low, and lowest.
After Gananoque, I headed back home and did some work until it was time for my dr appt. I received a letter from cancer screen indicating it was time for my 3 year check up. She said all was well. I have my mammogram next Tuesday. I am confident that all will be clear. I am healthier now than I have been since I began high school. I would say that was when my health went downhill because of poor choices that I made - eating food I was allergic to, eating crap food, smoking, and drinking. With all the cleansing that I have done and the healthy eating that I have been practicing for so long now, I am grateful for the health that I continue to gain. I intend to be here to see Ethan have kids of his own someday if he chooses that and to watch those kids grow for a while too!
After my dr appt I headed home to eat my third meal of the day. It was trout, bok choy, and squash.
We also picked him up a pair of khakis with the elastic ankle that he likes and a pair of black dress pants that he was not excited about. He chose to be in the school choir this year and so he needs them for the two performances that he will be in - one at the Isabel Bader Centre in November and one at St George's Cathedral in December. He also needs them for school assemblies. He wears them with a nice white shirt and a red tie and looks quite handsome. It's an outfit we buy each year for school.
After our little shopping spree we headed to Swiss Chalet to have some dinner. It was the only place that I could think of off the top of my head where I could get something relatively close to my eating requirements. Here's my diner below. I had dark chicken, broccoli and cauliflower, and part of a baked potato.
I packed lunches as well as Ethan's suitcase to have a sleepover at Grandma West's on Friday night and then got him to bed.
I trained on my team training call and then headed to bed myself. I felt that my training was well received. I was very proud of Joe for stepping out to welcome people to the call and then turn it over to me. It's all about growing and expanding as a person. To do this we have to be comfortable being uncomfortable!
I hope that you had a comfortably uncomfortable day!
