I started my new book, The Power of Focus. So far it is quite good. I'm sure I'll learn lots from it as well as get some reality checks as well! That's the purpose of reading personal growth books - to identify blind spots and work on them! Awareness is the first step to change. Also, in order for things to change, I must be willing to change. After all, the only person I can change is myself. When I show up differently, it allows others to show up differently.
This morning's workout was upper body. I am really noticing some good definition in my upper body. My lower body still has quite a bit of work to do, but I'll get there! Yesterday, I was asked how I keep so committed. My answer is that I keep my outcome in front of me. I recently learned this new term, outcome, as opposed to goal and I like it much better. It said that a goal implies a potential future failure whereas an outcome has already been achieved and today is just where you are on the path to achieving that outcome! Yes! That feels much better! It's interesting how change one word changes so much!
After my workout I had my superfood protein shake with Recover in it. My body is loving the extra BCAAs in Recover.
I hadn't made lunches the night before so I did that after my workout and then got ready for the day. Due to my poor planning, I got Ethan to school late. I am working on defining myself as early so that I can nip this poor habit in the bud!
I went to my Mom's house to work for the morning and had my second meal of the day when I got there. It was salmon, cauliflower, and sweet potatoes.
I had told Ethan that we would hit the skate park in Gananoque if the weather permitted. Unfortunately, it started to rain so we weren't able to go. Ethan was really disappointed and so I offered to do something else special when we got home. We watched the Waterboy movie and then had dinner. Ethan learned a valuable lesson from the movie which was to treat everyone as we want to be treated even if they are different. He told me that he felt sad for the waterboy who was being treated poorly by the team and the coach.
Dinner was leftover cabbage casserole which was ground beef for the protein and red cabbage for my veggie, cauliflower to make up my veggie portion, and rice.
