As is customary now for us on Tuesday mornings, it begins at the hockey rink! Here's a picture of the start to my day! As is also customary, I eat my first meal of the day at the rink. I need to eat early to get all my food in!
Today was a medium day and so for breakfast I had some salmon with lemon and dill on it and some bok choy. Note to self: Cut up the bok choy for taking on the road! It is not easy to eat whole with just a fork! LOL!
Here's a picture of my not-so-little-anymore hockey star. It has been a joy to watch him step into giving his perfect effort as he learned from the movie, "When the Game Stands Tall". He's so excited when he comes off the ice each time because he is seeing the results of giving his perfect effort! I think the coach is seeing it too! Here's a picture of Ethan getting ready to leave the rink after practice. With living away from town, he showers at the rink and then we either hit the skate park for a scooter session or when the colder weather comes, we will hit the RMC gym to hang out until school starts.
After hockey today I took Ethan for a drive so that he could have a nap. He was up late from Halloween and so he was very tired but still wanted to go to hockey so this was the solution we came up with together.
After I took him to school I headed home to get in my workout for the day. Today was cardio and core.
After my workout I had my second meal of the day which was my superfood protein shake with Recover in it.
Today was Leadership Call. I have been in my head lately instead of coming from my heart and so don't feel that I showed up 100% for this session. In reflecting back to the movie, "When the Game Stands Tall", I have not been giving my perfect effort. With some extra conversations with Dale and Trevor as well as a post I saw from my other coach, Darcy, I believe I am at the root of the issue and am able to move forward starting NOW! I am so very grateful to the people in my life who are willing to make their best better and assist me in making my best better too!
After my call I had my second superfood protein shake.
On the subject of gratitude, I am also grateful for my courage to keep examining what is not working in my life and being willing to change and grow to proceed toward the outcomes I desire. It is through this self-examination that I discover what is working so I can keep doing it, what isn't working so I can work to change it, and new skills. These new skills allow me to focus in on the things that are working and make them even more effective as well as develop the capacity and path forward for the changes that I would like to create in my life. I am grateful for the knowledge that if I want things to change in my life, I need to be willing to change. I am grateful for the knowledge that if I don't change then nothing will change and I will continue to get the same results that I am getting now!
I had my fourth meal of the day which was tuna, beets, and peas. I realized after I ate them that I am not supposed to have beets now. I expect that it is due to the high sugar content of them.
When we got home we had dinner. I had curried goat, bok choy, and carrots.
After Ethan was asleep I read the next focusing strategy in The Power of Focus so that I was prepared for my book club call on Wednesday morning and then headed to bed myself.
