Today was a cleanse day!
After I dropped Ethan off at school, I headed home to unpack and do my workout. Today was lower body. I am glad to say that my form was good for my squats and that my knees feel much better due to this!
I headed back to get Ethan and took him shopping for a new guitar. He was so inspired by seeing Steve Vai on Wednesday night that he decided to use the money he has been saving to buy himself a new guitar.
We went to several stores and ended up back at Centre Stage to get the red cherry burst guitar with the Floyd Rose whammy bar on it. He checked out different types of whammy bars and settled on this one despite Scott telling us that it required lots of maintenance. I have to admit it is a beauty of a guitar! Here's a picture of it and Ethan who is super excited!
He headed to bed and I had a team call and headed to bed myself. I did my personal growth reading and learned about an activity that I am going to do for the next while. I encourage you to do the same. On a piece of paper, make two columns. In the left column, write down all your negative thoughts about yourself as you have them over the day. Then sit down and write out the "correction" for this thought. So for example, I am always late! This is overgeneralization and isn't really true. Sometimes I am on time. So, I will write I am always late in the left hand column and then something like the following in the right hand column. Sometimes I am late, sometimes I am early, and sometimes I am on time. Do this for each negative statement. Over a period of time, this will allow you to start having more clear thoughts. I'll let you know how it works for me. It is important that this is a writing exercise and not just done in your head.
