After my workout I had my superfood protein shake.
I then did some training so that I was finished for my coaching call. I fell like this training will benefit me in many areas of my life and am glad that I am doing it! I really do love to learn new things!
I had my second meal of salmon and cabbage before my coaching call and then had my coaching call. It was a short call. We're done till Tuesday now.
I got ready to go to town and then had my third meal which was a pork chop and Brussels sprouts.
Joe came home and picked me up and we headed back to town to run some errands and grab groceries for the weekend. It was very busy in the grocery store.
We ran into some of Joe's family at the grocery store. They recently had some very upsetting news. They both looked tired, but were doing ok. It was good to see them and we exchanged hugs and a quick chat and then headed on our way. I left feeling very grateful for family. It's never easy to lose someone we love, but even more challenging at Christmas time.
After groceries I had my other superfood protein shake.
We picked Ethan up from school and then headed home for dinner. When I got there his teacher was handing out bookmarks to the children that the grade 7/8 class had made for them. She had added a special phrase about each student to the bookmarks and made a neat quiz game out of it. Once they chose correctly who she was describing, that child could come and get their bookmark. The kids had a lot of fun with the game. Ethan's bookmark indicated that he had a great sense of humour and was especially good with numbers. Both are true statements. His teacher, Ms Gerrity, then handed out Christmas crackers to each child and they all opened them together. They had a lot of fun with that too! We gathered Ethan's things and headed home. Ms Gerrity gave both Ethan and I a hug when we were leaving. She has been Ethan's teacher since grade 1 and will be his teacher as long as he is at the school. She has indicated in the past that she feels the children are just like her own. It is clear that she cares deeply for the each child in her class and that she knows them all well! I am grateful that Ethan is learning in this environment!
We headed home and had dinner. Mine was lamb chops with Brussels sprouts. It was delicious! Joe bought the lamb hock from Costco and cut it up himself with a meat saw. It was wonderful Australian lamb and was definitely butchered better than the lamb we got recently from a local farmer! I think you can learn just about anything on youtube!
After dinner, we watched a movie together and then headed to bed. I read a bit in The Power of Focus and headed off to sleep.
My lesson today was that I am so grateful for the life that I have created for myself. There are many others who are in dark places at this time of year. It is my hope that as I go through each day I can shine some light for someone else who's in a dark place to see ... even if just for a little while. It is my hope to bring a smile to someone's face even if just for a fleeting moment so that they can see that things can and will get better for them. It is my belief that these dark places allow us to appreciate the good that comes into our life. It is my belief that we need the contrast to be able to appreciate the good.
