After my workout I had my superfood protein shake with Recover in it. My muscles surely needed it today! I was very tired after doing both workouts back to back! Recover is a blend of branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) and L-carnitine to support muscle maintenance and rebuilding after exercise. BCAAs include leucine, isoleucine, and valine. Leucine stimulates muscle protein synthesis. Isoleucine and valine stimulate nutrient uptake by cells. When these BCAAs are combined, better post workout recovery is achieved.
I did some more training this morning before my coaching call. After my coaching call I had my second meal of the day which was meatballs and cabbage.
After my coaching call, I did some more training. I am loving this training and see how it is going to assist me in being able to help others. This is what life is all about!
I had my third meal around lunch time. It was a pork chop with broccoli.
In the afternoon, I had another coaching call. This one is with my life and authenticity coach, Darcy. I love these sessions as I learn so much about myself and I especially adore Darcy! I have known him for years. Today we were reflecting on how far each of us had come and what each had done to assist the other on their path. So beautiful and powerful! Through this conversation I was able to add more statements to my "Who Am I" list. Each morning I read these statements and soak in them. Then I live into them each day. When doubt comes up about what to do in a situation, I simply refer to my list of "Who Am I" statements and the path forward is clear! For example, what would "I Am Enough" do? Or how would "Courageous and Graceful Self-Expression" respond?
After my coaching session, I had my other superfood protein shake and then headed into town to get Ethan from school. We were supposed to go for a playdate with Ethan's friend, Kayden, that he met at the skatepark; however, Don (Kayden's) dad cancelled. Ethan has been asking to go bowling so we decided to take him to do that instead. We played 5-pin at Cloverleaf Lanes. I have to tell you that I think %-pin is much more challenging than 10-pin! We played two games and then Ethan and Joe had a game of pool before we left. We had a great time together!
I ate my last meal in the car on the way home which was a pork chop with cabbage.
When we got home, I received a gift from my Secret Santa which was a fitness magazine. Ethan's class has been doing this at school with the gifts allowed being things to eat or gifts from nature. He wanted to continue the fun at home. Sine there are only 3 of us, it is not hard to figure out who my Secret Santa is! Thanks for the magazine Joe! I found this yummy recipe in it, just in time for the holidays!
I'd modify it in the following way:
Use medjool dates as they're the yummiest :)
For the protein powder, use an undenatured whey protein if you can consume dairy and a pea/hemp/rice protein combo if you are non-dairy.
I'd skip the sweetener as it is not needed with the sweetness of the dates. If you feel you need sweetener, I'd use stevia. Steer clear of artifical sweeteners for sure! Your body doesn't need those chemicals!
I'd try them both ways - rolled into balls then enjoy - or roll into balls, flatten with a fork and bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes! Either way they'll be quite delicious and a decadent treat! Enjoy!
I'd love to hear how you liked them!
