After hockey I took Ethan for some dippy eggs and gluten-free English muffins. He doesn't eat the whites, just the yolks. He's actually allergic to the whites. Before we knew this and he wouldn't eat the whites, Joe would suggest that he should eat them. I explained to Joe that allergies show up in foods that we love and crave or in foods that we hate and can't stand eating. It's interesting that our bodies work that way. For me, I love my allergens - gluten and cow's dairy. I choose not to eat them though as I am committed to giving my body healthy food that serves it now. I used to be committed to what tasted good and having what I wanted because I wanted it. This led to health issues galore. It is amazing that now that I feed my body what it needs, it serves me well and performs the way that I need it to!
After I took Ethan to school, I headed to my Mom's to work for the day. Today was a cleanse day so I just took my cleanse drinks as required. For a snack part way through the afternoon, I had a quarter of an apple and three almonds. I love that I can choose to have a snack on cleanse days when I need to. We are not meant to be hungry and so it is all about listening to my body and giving it what it needs!
I headed to pick Ethan up from school and then we headed to guitar practice. It was a delight to listen to him play a whole slew of Christmas songs tonight. I love that his teacher goes with the flow. He'll pick back up the fundamentals in the new year as well as mix it with some fun songs as well!
After guitar, I made Ethan his dinner, we talked to Joe, and then we headed to bed to read. I chose to go to bed early since I hadn't slept well the night before. I read some in my Feeling Good book as well as reviewed what I had read in this week's chapter for The Power of Focus so that I was prepared for book club call tomorrow and then I went to sleep.
