We headed to hockey practice. The drive in was just fine as they keep the highway that we live on in great condition due to a lot of transport traffic and they also keep highway 15 in great condition due to it being a main vein to Ottawa besides the 401. I am always grateful for this. We ran into an issue once we got into Kingston. The roads were glare ice there! They hadn't sanded a lot of places and we ended up sliding down the turn lane into the sports complex. We also slid past the entrance to the arena from the sports complex and so we went around to the other entrance.
Hockey practice went really well. Ethan worked hard and they had a great scrimmage near the end of practice. The coach thanked them all for their dedication and hard work so far this year and in last week's tournament. It is little things such as this that encourage the children to work hard for him!
After practice, I decided that we were going to head home for the day since the freezing rain continued. I also learned that all the buses were cancelled and so figured this was a good indication that home was the best place for us too.
When we got home, we decided to watch a movie as we were both tired.
Tuesday was another cleanse day for me so I just had to drink my cleanse drinks and eat my snack wafers at specified intervals.
After the first movie we decided to watch another one while we did our workout. I did my cardio and then upper body exercises as is customary for Tuesdays now. Ethan practiced his hockey shooting and did some upper body exercises as well. I allowed the movie watching since it was in the morning and he would not be watching in the afternoon or evening before school.
We then got cleaned up and went to guitar practice. The young fella who has his lesson just before Ethan's had arrived late and so we had to wait for Ethan's lesson. I was totally fine with this as Ted has been more than accommodating to us on a number of occasions when we needed to change appointments, were late, or forgot to come totally! In fact, when he apologized for the lateness I thanked him for him being so accommodating! Ethan had another great finger picking practice. He's learning some really cool and challenging stuff.
After guitar, we came home and got ready for bed. I did the dishes and made lunches for the next day. Ethan finished off his Wings of Fire book and then we headed to bed to read the next book in The Land of Stories series. After Ethan was asleep I read some more of my Elon Musk book and then headed to sleep myself.
Today's lesson was that sometimes you just need to have some down time and cuddle!
