Today was a cleanse day so I just needed to pack my cleanse drinks and snacks.
After the dentist, we headed to Gould Lake to go for a hike. Since there wasn't much snow, we chose to go in our boots. There was enough snow that it made it a good workout. With the route that we chose there was a few spots where it was quite hairy! Once Ethan slid down the side of the hill heading straight to the icy cold water below. That freaked me out, but I was pleased with how I remained calm and gave him instructions to grab a tree on the way past. Thank goodness he stayed dry and safe! He came down off the hill as we had asked after that! Again, experience is a better teacher than reminders! The path along the side of the water was quite treacherous with ice! I was grateful to have my snowshoe poles along to assist! I definitely faced some fears of falling today! There were lots of times that I sat down and scooted on my bum so that I was low and had more chance of getting to where I needed to go! Over all it was fun and exhilarating!
We then headed home. We took a nice scenic route home and saw some deer which is always so beautiful to experience. I had a nice hot shower to warm up when I got home as I was quite wet from my bum scooting along and down hills!
I was quite hungry after the long hike with the adrenaline rushes so I ended up eating dinner with Joe and Ethan. I chose to have some meatballs and some Brussels sprouts. I had just enough to take the edge off and not a full meal.
We then watched a movie and headed to bed. We were all quite tired from the hike and the fresh air. Nothing like fresh air to make for a great sleep!
