Thursday morning began with a short meditation and then I got up and did my cardio. It was not easy to drag my butt out of bed as I didn't sleep well with the dog and cat having stand offs and challenging each other. Ethan also didn't sleep well and was up a lot. I was also quite sore from my workouts this past week. It would have been easy to shut off my alarm and go back to sleep; however, I kept my goal in front of me and so I got up.
After my cardio I had my superfood protein shake and then got things ready for the day.
When Ethan got up he took Luke out for his morning walk for me so that I could finish getting things ready for the day. It is going to be a bit of an adjustment to fit his schedule in with our morning schedule. So far we are managing well.
Ethan, Luke (my Mom's dog that we're dog-sitting), and I all loaded in the car and headed to take Ethan to school. Thursday mornings are nature walk and I was invited to attend with the class. Luke and I went along for the walk to the waterfront and then hung out as we watched the kids have some free play time. We then headed back to the school.
Luke and I headed to my Mom's place so I could get some work done. When we arrived I had my second meal of the day which was roast beef and Brussels sprouts. I then got to work. My website has been having some issues so I had several blog posts to catch up!
Around lunch time I had my third meal of the day which was pork roast and cauliflower and broccoli. I then continued working on my blog posts and getting them caught up.
Before Luke and I left to go and get Ethan from school, I ate my fourth meal of the day which was pike with cauliflower and broccoli.
We arrived a bit early so Luke and I walked around the block. Once Ethan came out, we all headed home. I did my other workout which was lower body. The cardio workout had removed some of the soreness from my muscles, but not all of it so it was a tough workout, but I felt much better once I completed it.
I had my other superfood protein shake with Recover in it and got Ethan's dinner as well. We then played a couple of board games and then took Luke out for a walk. Ethan won both of the board games! It was very dark for our walk so Ethan and I decided to go earlier from now on. He asked how my Mom walks Luke so late and I indicated that there are street lights in the city whereas there are none at home. It isn't the easiest to see even with a flashlight as it only illuminates so far ahead of you.
We then headed in and got ready for bed. We read some in The Land of Stories book and then Ethan and Luke settled into his room while Gillie (Ethan's cat) and I settled into my room. I read some in my Elon Musk book, let Luke out for a pee, and then headed off to bed. I missed my team call. I tried to stay awake, but I was just too tired from the day. I'm glad the calls are recorded so that I can listen over the weekend!
Today's lesson is that it is important to keep your goal in front of you when tough times come down your road. It's also important to consider your future self and whether the You of this evening will feel like doing your workout anymore than the You of this morning. Oftentimes, the answer will be NO!
