After walking Luke, I did my workout. Cardio was 20 minutes and then I also did lower body weights. I know I mentioned it yesterday, but I am so grateful to be back to weights. I really missed it! With my week off recovering and resting, I lowered the amount of weight that I am using and will work back up from there. I had some Recover in water after my workout to assist my muscles in recovering despite being on a cleanse day. I love that I can still use the Recover on my cleanse days.
After working out, we got ready to head and get an oil change and maintenance check up for the car.
After we got home, I did some work and then Ethan felt up to eating so I made him some dinner and we watched a movie.
After the movie I put Ethan to bed early and read him some in The Land of Stories. I then headed to bed myself to read some of my Elon Musk book. I am quite enjoying the book and ideas it is brining up in me. I'm also loving the interesting conversations that we have on the book club call about the book.
I believe that I have figured out why Ethan has been getting sick after each weekend for the last month or so. He eats really well, gets the nutrients he needs, gets tons of sleep like he needs, and takes his supplements, drinks lots of filtered water, and is active so I know all of that stuff it on track. He has been quite upset lately especially about Joe being gone each week. As we all know stress wreaks havoc on the body! I believe that the stress of Joe being gone is what is causing the continued illnesses. He is legitimately sick too - sore throat and fever for a day or two. This week his fever was 103.8 on Monday. Joe and I have been working with him about the importance of mindset and how that affects our body. When Ethan focuses on the things that he and Joe did the previous weekend, what they will do the upcoming weekend, and how much fun they have together, he feels better. When he focuses on the fact that Joe isn't home, he feels bad and his mind spirals out of control. It has been a good learning situation for him on the importance of managing his thoughts as well as for Joe and I on helping him through these challenging times. Kids have stress too!
Today's lesson was on the importance of focusing on the positives in a situation despite the fact that the situation isn't what we want it to be. This is not to say that we should ignore our negative feelings. They are there to let us know that something is off, but when we live in those negative thoughts, that is when trouble is created.
