I took Ethan to school and then headed to my Mom's to take Luke for his walk. Ethan has been sleeping in with him and Luke wouldn't get up until Ethan did so it has changed his schedule. I've decided to sleep with Luke so that he can get up and keep his schedule on track in the mornings!
When I got back from the walk, I had my second meal of the day which was pike and Brussels sprouts.
I spent the morning speaking with people about their health. I absolutely love sharing my passion of health and nutrition with people who are ready to make a change in their life. Life is all about helping others!
For my third meal of the day I had roast beef and broccoli.
I then spent the afternoon speaking with more people about their health.
I went early to Ethan's school as I am a class representative and they needed me to participate in a draw. It seems that there were too many parents who volunteered to attend a class trip to Upper Canada Village in the spring so they wanted to have a fair process for the number of people that the Village will allow to attend. I had also volunteered to attend, but removed my name from the draw to allow some of the other parents who do not get to participate with their kids very often. I was glad to see that some of the people chosen from the hat were parents who normally don't get to participate. I was saddened that one parent who desperately wanted to go and doesn't normally get to attend was not chosen. I sent an email urging other parents who do get to attend regularly to withdraw as well. I go on nature walks with the class on a regular basis, went on a class trip to the Four Directions Aboriginal Centre at Queen's to see their teepee and talk about it, and also got to help the class build their own teepee at school. I am very grateful that I get to be home full time now so that I can participate as much as possible. I get how it feels to not be there for things with your kids. I did that for two years when I was working away from home as a computer consultant. Ethan was disappointed that I will not be attending, but he was also appreciate of why I removed my name. He was very excited that one of his very close friend's, Aidan, Mom was chosen to attend. I've chosen to see it as an opportunity to have date night with Joe!
Once the draw was done, I grabbed Ethan from school a bit early and had my fourth meal of the day which was my other superfood protein shake with hemp seeds in it.
We then headed home to wait for Joe to get home. When he got home, we had dinner. I had chicken thighs and cauliflower.
After dinner, I did some work on my newsletter submission for my chiropractor's office that I am partnering with while Joe and Ethan played a video game together.
Ethan and I read some in The Land of Stories and then he headed to bed. Joe and I headed to bed as well. I read some in my Elon Musk book and then headed off to sleep.
Today's lesson was that it is all about perspective. I could have chosen to be disappointed that I wasn't able to attend the school trip or I could choose something that felt better. When I spoke to my friend about it, I was happy to help her choose a different perspective on the situation as well - her and her husband would get to spend some focused time with their other child who wouldn't be attending the school trip should her name not get picked. When you are given a difficult choice or situation, do you choose to focus on the difficultness of the situation or do you find something in the situation that feels better and focus on that? It may not change the outcome of the situation, but I find that I feel better despite the outcome.
