I then packed up my food for another ketosis day 2 day. This consisted of two superfood protein shakes and three meals of low fat meat and green veggies. With the set back this week, we have changed up my eating program from alternating day 1 ketosis with day 2 ketosis days to 3 days of day 2 ketosis days and then 1 day of day 1 ketosis days to kick my body back into action. It was upsetting to see the set back so close to my competition! How many of you would have given up? You can find my measurements and weight listed below.
Today also began my water test to see how my body would respond to water manipulation for my competition. For the day of competition, one needs to be dehydrated so the judges can see your muscle definition. Initially, I thought this was quite unhealthy; however, the more that I thought about it, I have realized that it really isn't any different than preparing for a medical test when you are not allowed food and water. It is one day so it is not dangerous. This was a struggle for me to wrap my head around! As you may know by now, I am the hydration queen! I love my water and am always reminding people about the importance of water for their health and body functions. Today I needed to consume 4L which is my usual water intake anyway.
After dropping Ethan off at school, I head back home to do some work and have one of my triad calls. We discussed being overcommitted and I determined that I need to rejig my schedule and evaluate the commitments that I have made after my competition is over. Right now with my competition so close, my focus is entirely on that and being fully prepared. Today began a week of appointments to get fully prepared for competition day!
After my workout, I headed back to town for an appointment to get my new cpap machine. I have been using an oral appliance for over a year now. I love it and it works great; however, I have been getting a sore jaw from the unnatural position and it is taking longer for my jaw to go back each morning. Due to this, I decided it was time to also get a cpap machine. My intention is to use the cpap machine most nights and use the oral appliance at least once a week so my teeth don't shift and cause it to not fit anymore as well as for vacations as it is easier to carry that a big cpap machine.
After getting my new cpap, I headed to get Ethan from school and then we went home. I did my lower body workout, we had dinner which was my other superfood protein shake for me and then we headed to bed to read The Land of Stories and head to sleep.
I wore my new cpap machine. I'll report tomorrow how it goes!
Day 1 Program 3
Day 28 Program 3
One of the big lessons that I have learned is managing my emotions. This has been a regular message in my life this past while and I have spent a great deal of time examining this to see what I need to learn from it. What I have learned is that I do manage my emotions and that I have always managed my emotions. The difference between now and then is that now I actually allow myself to feel and express my emotions whereas in the past I covered them up with emotions that I didn't feel or supressed them altogether. What I can also tell you is that I feel that expressing and feeling my emotions is way more healthy and that I will continue to honour myself by feeling and expressing my emotions. The other difference between now and then is that I do not live in my emotions. Yes, I get upset about situations as well as my current circumstances. The difference is that I do not LIVE in these emotions like I used to! It seems very healthy to me. What are your thoughts on emotions?
