Affirmations can help to change emotions. Here are a few affirmations with respect to emotions.
·I am in control of my emotions.
·My mind is focused, clear, and logical.
·I stay calm in stressful situations.
·I easily manage my emotions.
·I think clearly even in difficult and tense situations.
·I feel my emotions while remaining in control.
This last statement reminds us that we should feel all of our emotions, which helps to release them from our body, while at the same time remaining in control of ourselves. If we do not feel all of our emotions, this is when they get stored in the body and lead to a variety of health issues including cancer.
An effective, but very challenging way to practice affirmations is in front of the mirror. Initially this will be very hard to do as you are looking yourself in the eye. If you don`t believe what you are saying that will make it difficult, but it will get easier the more that you practice.
One tool that I use while I am at work to subliminally install my affirmations into my mind is called MindMaster. I type in the affirmations that I would like to work with and then run the application. The messages pop up in the bottom right hand corner of my monitor while I am working for a brief second. I do not have to read them for this to work. My brain acknowledges and understands them while I work.
Another concept along the lines of positive affirmations is self-talk. Be careful how you talk to yourself! If you hear something long enough and often enough, you WILL begin to believe it. Instead of saying, “I am stupid!” say, “That was silly” or something similar.
