She set up a call with me for after we both walked the dogs. I took Luke out for his walk and then came back and got cleaned up for the day. I packed my stuff and then had a call with Coach Michelle.
She told me that I should never feel like this - even when I step on the stage - and that I need to listen to my body and let her know. I'm eating crow right now because I know this! I teach this to other people! She asked me why I didn't listen to my body? I told her that I was powering through as I knew we were getting down to the wire and I wanted to look my best for the stage. She told me that I was to always listen to my body and not allow myself to feel this way again! She explained that the competition could be changed to another event on another date if we got to my competition date and we felt that I wasn't quite ready. Boy was this a relief to learn! I had no idea that I could do that! I still intend to work towards my May 6th date as I am registered for that, but it relieved some of the pressure that I was feeling. She immediately changed my program.
She ordered strictly no exercise for 2 full days. I was relieved to have a couple of rest days as I have been working out 7 days a week for a long time. Even though some days are just cardio, they are still intense because I do sprint intervals. She also ordered a full on carbohydrate day to refuel my body. I told her that I was going to the movie and asked if I could have popcorn. She told me definitely to have it and to be sure to have butter on it. Twist my rubber arm! On the way to the theatre I had my roast pork and broccoli. At the theatre I had a medium sized popcorn with butter and I ate the whole thing! I feel like it was the best popcorn I have ever had, but I know that isn't true. I have had locally grown popcorn fresh off the plant and airpopped at home and that was the best popcorn I ever had. I ate it with melted coconut oil mixed with butter and some Himalayan rock salt. Sooooo good!
After the movie, I headed home and had my third meal of the day which was pike, homemade falafels, and cauliflower.
I got laundry going and then relaxed on the couch with a tea and my Elon Musk book.
While I was reading I had my other superfood protein shake with flax and chia seeds in it since I missed having my flax in my morning shake.
As I read, Ethan and Joe played their game together. At dinner time we ate dinner which was baked chicken thighs, sweet potatoes and green beans for me.
After dinner, I continued on with the laundry while Joe, Ethan, I played a board game together. We then got ready for bed, I read Ethan some in The Land of Stories and then headed to bed to read some more in my Elon Musk book.
Today's lesson was to listen to my body - no matter what! It was also to practice what I preach! Here's my new mantra!
