I made them breakfast and then ate my own breakfast. Today was a medium day and so my breakfast was steak with green beans.
I did my workout and then had my superfood protein shake with Recover in it. I love how great my body feels after a good workout and being fueled with nutrient dense deliciousness!
Joe wanted to go for another drive to look for deer and see the trees and colours. In the car I ate my third meal of the day which was steak with Dijon mustard, asparagus, and carrots.
We headed to Napanee to check out the skate park there. Ethan had a good time scootering around on it. I enjoyed my fourth meal of the day, my superfood protein shake, while I watched him whiz around practicing tricks and trying out new things. I sat in such gratitude to be able to experience his joy and freeness!
After the skate park, we headed to Cataraqui arena for Ethan's hockey game. They won their game and he played really well. He told me after the game that he had given his perfect effort which he did! I am so grateful that he learned that lesson from the movie that we watched, "When the Game Stands Tall"! It isn't about winning or losing. it is about having fun and giving your perfect effort - doing your very best! It's about realizing that everyone has special skills and abilities and that their very best looks different than yours! In my opinion, if you have had fun then you have won whatever the final score of the game!
At the game, I had a discussion with my Mom about Ethan's school altercation from Friday and got some ideas about managing the situation from her. I am grateful that she has a skillset that I can draw from. It really does take a community to raise a child! One of the spaces that I will hold for myself during the conversations over the next while with the teacher and Ethan is for a positive resolution to the situation which allows both children to learn healthy lessons about themselves and relationship building as well as keeping Momma Bear in check so that I can allow these lessons to unfold. Having a list of my concerns and questions written out will help me to stay on course and in this positive space!
After the game, we headed home and got dinner. I had curried goat, peas, and butternut squash with ghee on it to get in my daily fat allotment. Ghee is clarified butter and is really good for you! It has a lovely flavour to it as well. If you have never experienced it, I invite you to give it a try. You can buy it in the health food section of Loblaws or you can make your own. It's actually quite easy to do.
I was given the opportunity to analyze some scenarios and determine what kind of thinking was being used - all-or-nothing thinking, overgeneralization, mental filter, disqualifying the positive, jumping to conclusions, magnification (catastrophizing) or minimization, emotional reasoning, should statements, labeling and mislabelling, and personalization. I got some of them right, but not all of them. I also reflected on some situations where I fell into one pattern of thinking or another. The book is now getting into building self-esteem. I am interested to see what lessons I learn next!
I have been interested in personal growth for a long time; however, I am especially grateful for the community of like-minded people that I have partnered with. They encourage me to step into my greatness each and every day and really challenge me when I am not living from that place! Are you committed to making your best better, to learning new skills that allow your true self to shine through, to taking the masks off and allowing the World to meet you? I'd love for you to join with us on this journey! I am on a mission to help people achieve their best health in all areas of their life including mind, body, and soul! The book that we're currently reading in book club is the Power of Focus. I'd love for you to grab the book and join in the discussion either via the weekly calls or on our community page. Message me! We are also embarking on another Live Happy Soul journey where we are learning to really take care of ourselves so that we can be the best version of us for others - to fill our cups first so we can give to others from the overflow. We're giving back and spreading love and hope throughout the world! Search "Live Happy Soul" and like the page so you can participate in that movement! There are weekly activities to participate in between now and mid-May!
Here are my weekly measurements. I'm pretty excited about the releases this week as it was my cycle time and I usually gain weight of about 5 lbs during this time.
I'm excited to see what changes Coach Michelle makes this week for my program!
I don't have any new posing pictures this week, but I am going to have an intense 2 hour in-person session with Coach Zara on Saturday morning when I head to Toronto for a workshop that I am attending. I am excited for the tweaks and learning that will happen at the posing coaching session as well as the growth that will happen at the workshop! Coach Zara tells me that she will also take a video of me doing my "T" walk so I will see if I can figure out how to share that! I am expecting some big changes in my posing during this session as well as to be sore! It is hard work, but also very fun! Here I grow again!
