Today we headed off to Ottawa to get our passports renewed. Well, really we had to request new ones as we “lost” them last year. I am convinced that the lady at the border did not give them back to us after she interrogated us for an extended period of time, but they insist that they didn’t have them. There was a huge line up at the one in Ottawa and so we headed to the one in Gatineau. There was a line up there still, but it was considerably shorter than the one in Ottawa!
Today’s exercise consisted of walking out and back to our ice fishing location. It was about a kilometre each way. Being the “horse” pulling the sled with all the ice fishing paraphernalia definitely added some benefit! We were skunked, but had a great time anyway!
Lunch consisted of homemade turkey soup with lots of turkey, carrots, and broccoli in it. I had the soup base with the turkey in it and just threw in some steamed veggies that I had. Yum!
Yep, you guessed it. My day started off with meditation and Yoga. Then I got ready to head to town. I wanted to get the tire checked and fixed if possible. On the way in, I listened to a marketing training course. I tend to read and/or listen to a lot of self-help books. I like to build on the skills and abilities that I already have and learn new ones. I also love to read and/or listen to health books. When I started down my path to health, I cleaned out my book shelf to make room for health books and I have happily filled it back up. A lot of them I have read, but there are still many waiting for me to devour their pages!
It was a lovely morning for mediation and Yoga. Out my front window, I can see a field of snow and off in the distance is a beautiful line of trees. It is an especially nice view for my Yoga. It is quiet and peaceful as most of the rest of the world sleeps! In the warmer months, I like to do my Yoga outside on the lawn. After Yoga was a nice walk on the treadmill. Right now I am listening to Manifest Your Destiny by Wayne Dyer. Check it out if you haven’t read/listened to it. It is amazing!
After doing Yoga and a nice long walk on the treadmill, my husband, my son, and I got ready to go to town. My son got money from his grandmother for Christmas and it was burning a hole in his pocket! He got some new men for his Infinity game.
We enjoyed a nice lunch out. I had tilapia fish with a wild rice mix and zucchini. It was yummy!
The rest of the day I puttered around the house tidying up and doing laundry. It was nice to relax a bit and unwind from the excitement of Christmas.
I ran out of my Women’s Essentials from Isagenix and so I have been taking Estrosense and Progestomend to help manage my hormones. It has been two days now that I have been back on these and two days of crappy sleep have been the result! I was awake at 2:30 this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep for the life of me! Blech! I managed to fall back to sleep around 7 am for about 5 minutes and then my son was up and ready to tear into his gifts. Needless to say, I can’t wait to get my autoship and get back on my Women’s Essentials! They help me sleep better, the have regulated my menstrual cycle, and they make me feel great! The extra bonus is that they are a fraction of the cost of the Estrosense ($60ish) and the Progestomend ($60ish) at $27!
I did 45 minutes of Yoga today.
For lunch today I had turkey sausage, Brussels sprouts, and beets for lunch today.
My son, my husband and I went tobogganing on the small hill beside our house today. It was a lot of fun! Then we all went for a nice crisp winter walk. The added weight of the boots and snow clothes created a bit more resistance. It was very enjoyable. I do love to do things outside in the winter when it isn’t too cold.
I enjoyed a nice meditation and 45 minutes of Yoga while my son slept and my husband took the car in to get the snow tires on. Yep, we were a little late getting that done this year. Better late than never as they say!
For lunch today I had sautéed mushrooms (king oyster and shiitake), sautéed onions and fennel, elk burger, and sweet potato fries (baked of course). Yum!
My “All About Me” day consisted of my husband and son taking off to town for the day. After my lunch, I gave myself a manicure and pedicure. Then I decided I felt like a run today so I ran for 5 km. After my run, I enjoyed 30 minutes in the sauna. After the sauna, I had a shower and then soaked in an Epsom salt bath. All this happened in the peace and quiet with no interruptions! Lovely!
For lunch today I had cabbage roll casserole. This is one of my son’s favourite meals. A lady that I used to work with gave me the recipe. It tastes just like cabbage rolls, but a lot less effort! You chop up the cabbage and put it in the bottom of a 9 X 13 dish. You cook up 1lb of ground beef (local, grass fed of course) with a couple of tablespoons of organic brown rice. Then you add your can of crushed tomatoes (organic of course). Next you pour the meat and tomato mixture over the cabbage, but don’t stir. Cover and cook for about 45 minutes at 325 F. Sometimes we add chopped garlic, onions, cauliflower, etc to the meat mixture, but it is equally as delicious just plain.
