Laughter is definitely great for your emotional state. It is pretty hard to be sad or angry when you are laughing. Laughter has been shown to reduce pain, increase job performance, improve relationships, and improve the flow of oxygen to the heart and brain. It also reduces blood sugar levels and is a great ab workout!
Laughter is contagious and is more beneficial in a group setting. Check out the video in which a man demonstrates a Self-Laughter Yoga session. See if you can keep a straight face and not laugh! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2xYLUQSFHE
Anyone can do Laughter Yoga from children to elderly people. Children are natural laughers! They laugh at everything and anything. They laugh just because they can. A child will build a tower, then knock it down, laugh about it and then build it again. As adults, we have lost our ability to laugh. An adult would build the same tower and if they knocked it down, they would likely get angry about it. Laugher Yoga helps us to bring back our sense of joy and allows us to laugh at life situations that we can`t change.
Laughter Yoga helps improve business and worker performance by reducing stress, improving efficiency, team building, enhancing creativity, and improving attention span. It also creates a positive work environment.
